Praise the Lord!

I just got off the phone with Beccah, she had texted me a picture of Owen in the hospital. Owen is awake and off the ventilator. Much earlier than expected! He has been awake quite a bit today and seems to be doing ok. Micah asked the dr/nurses today, "So he's gonna live right" and they responded positively. Praise the Lord. Micah puts the miracles happening in phases. Phase 1 was him living after drowning, Phase 2 is living this week and now being off the ventilator and the medications. Miracle phase 3 will be his brain, which is now the next item of prayer. This week he is going to start therapy. So that will tell us more about his brain activity. But praise the Lord for this amazing miracle! Keep praying!

Also, Beccah mentioned that now that he's out of the woods, the financial burden is starting to get heavy. Even with good insurance they could possibly have to pay 20% of the bills they get. So they are probably looking at a huge bill! So, if the Lord should move in your heart and you would like to help out financially, no matter how huge or how small, please send me an email and I will give you their address.

Thanks for all of your prayers! We have all just witnessed a miracle!

Update

I just got off the phone with Beccah. She told me that as of 12:15 they had taken Owen off of all medication and off of the ventilator. They are now waiting to see if he wakes up. This is a positive step and a nurse actually told them today that he was doing well. Still a big question as to what is going to happen now, so keep praying.

Our Lord is good!

An update

The following is from an email that Beccah sent to our old Sunday school class in Elkhart.

"I just talked to Micah. He is not off of the sedation medication yet. BUT, they did take that hot/cold blanket that was regulating his temperature away and his brain has kept his body at normal temp by itself for almost 4 hours now. The medication that he is off of will take about 12 hours because they are going to finish the bag that's dripping. It;s the med that was making him swell up not the sedation one. Thank you for everything....especially the prayers. My brother's faith has always been a little shaky with lots of questions. He is so believing that God is going to do the "first miracle I have ever seen." He has been around alot of death, even when we were young. I beg, plead and pray for God to save Owen and bring his sweet smile home to us but I pray for Micah if He doesn't. We all wonder why God would tell literally thousands of people, "no" for this request and why He would let him live in the first place and now have him doing so well. The doctor is a Christian and has told them that the fact that Owen is still here is a major miracle in itself."

Small Update

Owen is still on a ventilator right now and there is no real change in his condition. He is having a CAT scan today to see the damage or progress of his brain. Please continue to pray not only for Owen but for their whole family. Mom and Dad, Micah and Jen, they have one other son Wyatt who is 3. Also for my good friends Michael and Beccah, this terrible tragedy happened in their back yard. Pray for faith and trust in our Mighty God!

Please Pray

Friends of our from Elkhart, Micah and Jen's littlest son Owen fell into a pool earlier today and is in critical condition. He has a heart beat but no brain activity. Please pray for a miracle! Please pray for Micah and Jen as they deal with this, no parent should ever have to! Also pray for Beccah and Michael (in-laws) that they will be able to help comfort them and be there for them in any way possible while dealing with this tragedy also.

Again please pray. My heart breaks for this couple! I can't begin to imagine! Pray for little Owen!

A few favorite things

My first favorite thing is Fall! It is my very favorite season. I love that you can go outside with jeans and a sweatshirt and be perfect. I love the colors and I love the smells! So that explains my new blog template. My second favorite thing is my family. I love my hubby (as seen in previous posts) and my kid is great! Ok, so only two favorite things.

Here is Wyatt's new favorite thing.

Man o man does he love this tractor. We have to see it every day when we got for a walk around our neighborhood!
He says "kick a tires" and kick he does. Every tire.
He did this himself. No staging except to have him look at mama. He was even looking at the Bible all on his own.

Weekend Away

This past weekend Chris and I got to go away for our anniversary. What a great time. We went down to Baltimore and walked around the Inner Harbor for a little but then were too hot and decided to go to the National Aquarium which was a great idea. I love that place. We met up with Laura and Shawn for some amazing dinner at Fogo de Chao AMAZING! We went to their church and got to see their cute little house again! All in all, a great weekend of relaxing! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Geshay for watching the boy for us!

4 Amazing Years!

Today Chris and I celebrate 4 amazing years together! It took us long enough to get together, but then it took a short time to get to the alter! I am so thankful for the time God took to work on us separatly. I have loved every minute of our life together. All the laughter and even the tears. You are an amazing husband and I could not ask for more! Thank you for being everything I need and more than I could ever want! Thank you for being the amazing Dad you are to Wyatt! Wow, that kid loves his daddy! I can't wait to spend many many more years together! I love you babe!

Well, here is my first attempt at making a movie with the new Picasa 3. I liked making it, but uploading has been a little annoying. The music is cheesy but our selection on the computer isn't very large. Anyway, enjoy! These are our fun days already in September!
