Day at the beach

While Chris looks for a job it has been nice to do some things as a family. We took a day last week and went to the beach. So much fun. We ate pizza at Grotto's and had Thrashers french fries. Wyatt was in heaven. He LOVED playing in the sand, and especially loved playing in the holes other people had dug. It was a very nice day!

Favorite thing to do all day....dig in the sand....he commandeered many a hole :)

When we got home he didn't want to go in so he swam in his pool for a little while and then watered Grandma's flowers.

Building a patio!

One of our projects since moving in with the parents has been helping Dad build his patio! The Geshay family loves to sit outside on nice nights/mornings so its been sad without anything to sit on. So Dad has been working on a porch for quite some time now. He had to dig out the area and then put in lots of rock and then waited a few weeks so the rocks got really packed in. He ordered the pavers and then for the last approximately 2 weeks we have been putting the porch together. We got it mostly finished on Saturday. The only thing left is the stairs and a plant shelf in the corner.

This was the first weekend, Wyatt actually got to help a lot, b/c there were a lot of cracks to fill

Welcome to Delaware

Well since arriving in Delaware we have experienced some very interesting things, that gently remind us we are back on the East coast.

Things we've enjoyed.

1. Wawa! The best convenience store/gas station in the world! I love their coffee!

2. Rita's water ice, Yum!

3. Phillie's baseball (chris)

4. Our families

5. That there is more than one Chick-fil-A we can go to

6. Going to the shore! (even though we haven't quite yet, its nice to know its so close)

Things we have NOT enjoyed.

1. The influx of traffic

2. The rude people (really, they aren't nice)

3. Getting egged while making a late night Wawa run. Chris went out to get some snacks about 9:30 one night last week and when he came back he wasn't happy, he had gotten an egg thrown at the car as he was waiting at a stop sign. There was egg EVERYWHERE! We cleaned it off the car so it wouldn't wreck the paint, and thought we got most of it cleaned off the inside, but no. The next day we went to get in and the door was stuck closed, it took quite a bit to open it. So the next hour or so we washed the car inside and out, we even had to use a toothbrush to get the egg out of the top of the seatbelt. It was gross and smelly.

4. Sitting in a 4 hour traffic jam!!! No really, literally 4 hours. I didn't start taking pictures until about and 2 1/2 hours in. We left OPEX (where my dad works) at 3:00 and didn't get home until a little after 7. The sitting traffic didn't start until 3:45. We found out about 4:30 why...there was a man with a gun on the bridge across the Delaware river threating to jump. So we had no idea when the bridge would open again, we were right next to the last exit for the bridge so we decided to get off and go back N to the next bridge which was about 20 min away. We got to where we could see the bridge and stopped yet again. This is where the pictures begin. Wyatt was VERY done with the car at this point! 2 lanes of traffic merged with 2 other highways and then all had a toll then about 8 lanes of traffic had to merge into 1 all within about 1 mile! Insane. They had routed a lot of traffic from the other bridge here, and it caused a lot of mess. We did finally get home, frustrated, but grateful to be home.

Then 60mph! We did get through the worst of it here. Finally across the river.


We were almost home and then sat for a few more minutes! Gross

This was God's little reminder at the end of the night though! Right in front of my parents house! So bright and big!

Helping Grandpa

My dad is putting in a porch on the back of his house so Chris, David and Wyatt were all outside on Saturday helping him out. Wyatt was mostly in the way, but he did find a few times to help out. He only got to help a little because it was very hot! But he looks so cute helping out! (you can click on any picture to enlarge it!)

Wyatt's recent milestone!

Wyatt has been taking his naps in a big boy bed. Its a queen bed my parents had in the room Wyatt is now. He loves it for the most part. But I am not quite sure he is really ready for it. It takes him a LONG time to go to sleep and he doesn't like to stay in bed without me in there. But its been an interesting week anyway. He looks little in the big bed!

The trip out

Our trip out was a little long. Not bad overall, but we got a later start than we were hoping. We didn't end up getting into our hotel until 11:30 p.m. Since we started at 7am it was a Very long day. Here are some pictures of our Journey.

Pennsylvania, this late into the trip Wyatt was getting a little silly and VERY tired!

Maryland welcomes You! Wyatt was sound asleep all the way through Maryland. When we got to the hotel Late Saturday, he didn't go right back to sleep....not til 1:30 a.m. so he was a VERY tired boy on Sunday.....I had my whole family pray he would sleep because he was so cranky!

We got here safe, and believe it or not I forgot to take a picture of the Delaware sign. But we're here!
