Short Weeks!
I know even though I don't work I look forward to when Chris has a short week! Not only because he doesn't have to get up at 3am, but because we get to spend more time with him! It was nice to look forward to spending that time with him! I love my hubby!

Day 22 & 23
Day 22
The Hibbards
The Hibbards allowed us to stay with them for our little vacation week. The funny thing is it was in our old house. A little weird. Anyway, it was great to talk with them and they were very gracious! Thanks guys!
Day 23
A long day in the car....
....with a perfect child. Everyone with small children enters a long trip with some trepidation. We are no different. I get worried about how Wyatt will do, if he'll scream, if he'll be cranky, if I will constantly have to turn around to entertain him. On previous trips, that has definitely been the case, but today, he was an absolute angel! No crying, no fits, I didn't even really have to stay turned around to give him anything. He took a nap ok, he was amazing! A DVD player helped and it also helped that after our exciting week he was exhausted!

Day 23

Day 20 &21
Day 20
Fun with friends! We arrived in Elkhart and almost immediately went to our good friends the Butler's! (Beccah is Owen's Aunt) We were also met by some other good friends, the Burkhart's. It was awesome to spend some time with all of them, loud kids and all! It felt like no time had passed, we picked up right where we left off! We love and miss all of you!
Day 21
More fun with friends! We got together with our Host's the Hibbards and our old music pastor's family the Perstrope's. Another great time of laughing and loud kids! We laughed a lot and had such a great time catching each other on our lives. Our kids love to play together and have all asked about each other on a regular basis since we moved so it was great to see them remember each other and play and have fun! Thanks guys!

Day 19
Gotta catch up a little!
Lower gas prices!
Our trip was a lot cheaper this time because of the lower gas prices. We saw them go down from $1.76 when we left Delaware to $1.67 when we got to Elkhart. It is so great to have that little bit of relief from the amazingly high ones when we had when we moved back to Delaware. Then it was about $3.80 if not more!
Praise the Lord for small relief!

Day 18
Vacation
Today we left for a little getaway back to Elkhart! But tonight we stayed in a hotel. Wyatt got to swim in a big pool with floaties again for the first time since early summer. He is such a fish! It was so much fun to watch him jump in and learn to swim around the pool! It was nice for all of us to just relax a night away from everything! Anxious to get up and get going to Elkhart the next day!

Day 17
Patience
I had a bad mom day today! I thought it would be fun to take Wyatt to the park! And it was until it was time to leave. He doesn't usually throw a fit, but today was different. He screamed and he slid right out of his booster seat that we usually don't have unless we have someone elses car. Anyway, an hour later I ended up calling Chris because there was nothing I could do in the parking lot of a public park. After Chris left with him, I sat in the parking lot and cried! I was very thankful because God gave me the patience not to go crazy trying to punish him to get in the seat or get angry with him.

Day 16
A Risen Lord!
Today in church we sang the song "In Christ Alone" What a powerful song! My favorite phrase is..
"Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ."
Wow! "Sin's curse has lost its grip on me." I do not live like that. What a challenge. I need to live like Chris paid my price because He did! I don't have to be a slave to sin. With His help I can overcome it, because I certainly cannot do it on my own!

Day 15
Miracles
I really believe I saw my first physical miracle this last year. I wrote about Owen in this blog and how he drowned in a backyard pool. It is truly a miracle that today he is almost walking on his own, clapping his hands, playing with his brother, trying to talk, eating and breathing! AMAZING! I know that we are all miracles, but this is a miracle like from the Bible! We all wish we could have been there too see the healing of the man born blind, the man lowered through the ceiling, Jesus walking on the water. I love that He has allowed me to "see" this miracle in Wyatt! What a mighty God we serve!

Day 14
Music!
I come from a musical family and I love it! I love that at holiday's we usually end up gathered around the piano at some point singing. I love that all of us randomly break into song at any time when a phrase or word reminds us of a song. I love that we can still sing most of the songs from critter county we listened to when we were young. I love worshipping with my family! I love that it is being passed down to the next generation. Every day Wyatt finds something new about music that he loves. From the drums, to the piano, to the violin, to just singing at the top of his lungs. Thank the Lord for music!

Laughter!
I love to laugh and I love having a kid that makes me laugh. I think that it is important to laugh at your kids! Kids say the darndest things! Wyatt just comes up with the most hilarious stuff. The other day I was tickling him and he shouted out "Tickle my nipples" I couldn't stop laughing! I did realize later than he was calling his armpits his nipples! He's too funny!

Day 12
Provision - Today I was able to go to IKEA and buy a new dresser for Wyatt. It was so wonderful to be able to save up the cash and pay for it not with credit! It is so wonderful that God has blessed us with a job that can finally allow us to save a little so we can buy some of the things we've needed for a while! Thank the Lord for His provision of a job and in helping us we wise with our money! We've come a long way :)

Day 11 - Veteren's day
I am so thankful to all of the Veteren's who served our country! We don't say thank you nearly enough. Specifically I am thankful for my brother-in-law, who served in Iraq a few years ago in the marine's. He loves his country and he loves his family. He's a great brother-in-law, and I love being part of his family. Thanks Tim!!!
Day 10
Party time with friends! Last night I got to go over to my sister's house and have a little craft night. It was great to just hang out and laugh! I'm not the craftyiest person in the world, but I loved hanging out with the girls. No kids, just us. So fun! Thanks Kate!

Church - Mostly being with my church family. I love going to the service, singing praise to our Lord and hearing the word given. I love small group classes too where great conversation can happen and help open your mind to scripture in a way you hadn't thought of before! I usually leave so encouraged and I am thankful to be part of the family of God!

Day 8
Fun, relaxing days. In this go go go world its nice to have days that you do nothing. The margins of life if you will. I think back to my life before Chris and I got married, the running around of life working at BBW, working 60 hour weeks at about this time. Holiday's were crazy. I don't think I took enough time for margins. But I am thankful that the Lord built in a natural day of rest, I think it speaks to how important it is to our lives to rest. So, take today, thank the Lord for it and then relax!

Day 6
A great Dad! As I speak my dad is in the basement painting getting it ready for us to move down there. He has spent the entire week painting. What a guy. I help a little this morning and he kicked me out because he didn't want me breathing it in too much. I am so thankful for more than his painting but for the fact that he is an AMAZING example of grace to me! He has been tried, tested and proven! I could not ask for a better Dad! I love you!

30 days of Thanksgiving!
My sister is taking this month to write 30 days of thanksgiving so I thought I would join her, if only a few days late. Today will contain 5 reasons I am thankful!
Day 1 - My amazing husband Chris, he has made some sacrifices for our family in the last few months so that I can stay home with Wyatt and our future children. This has been such a blessing to me! Not many can understand. He is a teacher at heart and had to leave some amazing kids in order for this to happen and I am so thankful for that!
Day 2 - My Wyatt. What a sweet little boy I have. Challenging at times, but an amazing kid. He makes me laugh and he makes me cry, but I couldn't have asked for anyone better! I love his laugh, I love the way he loves to play the drums, and I LOVE that he loves music. He has a determined mind and doesn't like it changed very easily. All of these things amaze me. My favorite these days are how he loves to talk to the baby. He'll crawl in bed with me in the morning and get under the covers, or as he says "in tent" and talk and sing to the baby! Love it. I pray that he someday comes to know the Lord and becomes a man of God.
Day 3 - A great pastor. We are enjoying our new church and really enjoying our new pastor. He has such a great heart for people and wants to see them understand the word and love the Lord so much. He has a great way to communicating this to his church and I am very blessed to have him. Thanks chill! He has a blog if you are ever interested in reading it.
Day 4 - A free country. Where we get to every year vote for who is running our country. The right to vote is something many have never had and I count it a privilege to join with my country (wish it was more of the country) and elect our officials.
Day 5 - A God that is in absolute control. We woke up today to a new president. And yes, our God is still in control. He may not have been the choice for some, but apparently he was the choice God wanted to be in control. We as Christians need to submit to that and trust in our Ever
Faithful, All Knowing, All Powerful, Living God.
