Trust His heart!

Such a heavy heart today. And a mind that would not stop praying for friends of mine today. My friend Shelly from high school put her baby down for a nap yesterday and he never woke up. I am sitting here fighting back the tears as I type this. There are no words for this tragedy. As I talked with my mom today the song Trust His Heart came to our minds and its message keeps ringing through my ears. Especially these phrases, "God is too wise to me mistaken, God is too good to be unkind, so when you don't understand, when you don't see His plan. When you can't trace His hand, trust His heart." It is hard to understand something like this and we cannot see a plan at all right now, but we have to trust His heart. He is holding on to this family so tightly, because they cannot hold themselves up. They cannot handle this, but He can.

Right now my prayer for Shelly is that she has the strength to take another breath. I cannot imagine. As she put it they are in, "unfathomable pain" right now. Please take as many minutes, hours, days as you can to pray for this family, I have used almost all of mine today, most covered in tears. Here is a picture of their family so you can hold them up with faces. Luke, Shelly, James, Lauren and baby Graham. Pray hard and long!!

All things work for our good
though sometimes we can't see how they could
struggles that break our hearts in two
sometimes blinds us to the truth

Our Father knows what's best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim, and you just can't see Him
Remember you're never alone

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart

He sees the master plan
And He holds our future in His hands
So don't live as those who have no hope
All our hope is found in Him

We see the present clearly
But He sees the first and the last
And like a tapestry He's weaving you and me to someday be just like Him

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart

He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand trust His heart

  1. Thanks for posting this, Carrie. I prayed for your friends and will keep praying as God brings them to mind. What a tragedy, and yet, God is infinitely good though it seems sometimes to be a contradiction. You're a good friend. Love you!

  2. Oh my goodness Carrie. As I read the last post and this one I just felt my heart grow so heavy for her. Very, very sad. How is she going now at this time. We will pray or her in our family.
